South Africa

Program(s)

South Africa is located at the southern tip of the African continent and borders Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, the Kingdom of Lesotho, and Swaziland. South Africa is known for its ethnic and linguistic diversity, with eleven official languages and the largest Caucasian, Indian, and racially mixed communities in Africa. Although South Africa still grapples with some of the complex issues in a post-apartheid era, the culturally rich cities and people along with the beauty of the mountains and coastlines in South Africa continue to draw students and visitors alike to this African nation.

The charming university town of Stellenbosch is ideally situated in the heart of the Cape Winelands, surrounded by magnificent mountains, 20 minutes from the nearest beaches and 30 minutes from Cape Town. Stellenbosch and the surrounding areas offer plenty of outdoor activities to be enjoyed, as well as a rich variety of theatre, arts and entertainment year around.
