Scott Tayloe - Associate Director

During his undergraduate college career at Jacksonville University, Scott studied and volunteered abroad in Australia, Costa Rica, France, Portugal and the Philippines. Scott received his pilots license at the age of 17, backpacked Europe at 18 and has been traveling ever since. He is originally from St. Louis, Missouri but has lived in Jacksonville, Florida for the past 10 years. Scott recently received his MBA from Jacksonville University and enjoys playing on the beach with his dogs or planning his next trip abroad.

Ginny Garzon - Program and Experiential Education Abroad Coordinator

Ginny studied abroad in Australia, and has since traveled to Canada, England, Ecuador, Mexico, Venezuela, and Spain.  At the IEP Main Office, Ginny coordinates the intern and volunteer abroad programs.  In addition to globe-trotting, Ginny enjoys reading, singing, football season (Go Huskers!) and her husband's fine cuisine.  Ginny was raised on a  farm near Royal, Nebraska and can tell plenty of crazy stories about life in the Midwest.  She attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where she earned a degree in Elementary Education.  Ginny now resides in Jacksonville, Florida with her husband Carlos and dog, Kano.

Keith Born - Program Advisor

With majors in Spanish and International Studies, Keith graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Keith's international experiences include studying abroad in Seville, Spain, and visiting Portugal, Morocco, and various Latin American countries and Caribbean islands.  As an undergraduate, he worked as a Spanish tutor and played an active role in promoting study abroad on campus.  Keith visits schools in the Midwest, and for part of the year exchanges his home near Chicago to live on the IEP site in Oaxaca, Mexico, where his biking and beach-exploring hobbies can be exercised properly.

Between High School and her career at the University of Virginia, Anna studied abroad in Strasbourg, France; Barcelona, Spain; the Outback, Australia; Cusco, Peru; and Mendoza, Argentina.  She obtained a degree in Foreign Affairs and Latin American Studies, has traveled extensively throughout Latin America, and has also visited England, Italy, Greece, Scotland, Germany, Austria, Belgium, China, Japan, and Israel.  Anna visits schools in the Mid-Atlantic and Ohio Valley and lives the rest of the year at the site in Oaxaca, Mexico.  Though exploring the world (and the United States as well!) is Anna's favorite pastime, she enjoys reading, going to concerts and Broadway plays, attempting to dance salsa, and trying new foods.

Benny Axt - Program Advisor

A Colorado native and graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Benny spent the Spring semester of his junior year studying in Australia.  He then purchased an around-the-world airline ticket and embarked upon an excursion through Asia, Europe, and Oceania.  After college, he taught English in South Korea where he also joined a break dance crew and performed in the opening for the World Cup.  His next adventure was an overland truck trip in Africa from Cairo to Capetown, with a stint as a divemaster in Tofu, Mozambique.  Benny recently returned from a year of working and volunteering throughout South America and is a proud new member of the IEP team.  He has visited over 50 countries and has lived on 6 continents.  However, he plans to visit the remaining continent, Antarctica, to SCUBA dive with the penguins.

Jesse Hatcher - Program Advisor

As an undergraduate at Indiana University, Jesse studied abroad in Mexico and Chile, and later volunteered in Mexico, Honduras and Nicaragua.  He graduated with a degree in Spanish, a certificate in business management and minors in history and religious studies. Upon graduation, he spent a year teaching in Cadiz, Spain, where the sun shines just a little bit brighter. From Spain he was able to make exciting enriching excursions to Morocco, Portugal and Germany.  As a Program Advisor, Jesse splits time between the Great Pacific West and Oaxaca, Mexico.  His favorite pastimes include sports, guitar, and culinary fusion.

Paul Bissember - Program Advisor

During his undergraduate career, Paul studied abroad for a year in Argentina and also completed a two-week field study in Guatemala. He received a B.A. in Spanish and Political Science from Siena College in upstate NY. Paul has traveled to Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Peru, Chile and Bolivia. He recently taught English for a year in Cádiz, Spain where he had the opportunity to travel to Morocco, France, Portugal and England. Now stateside, when he's not traveling throughout the Northeast U.S. to sharing his passion for study abroad, Paul resides in Oaxaca, Mexico.  Some of his interests include live music, snowboarding, speaking Spanish and trying to learn new languages.

Katherine is a graduate of Goucher College, and during her undergraduate career studied for a year in Copenhagen, Denmark.  She has traveled to England, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands, Germany, Hungary, Czech Republic, Austria, China, and South Africa.  Katherine manages office operations at the IEP Main Office at Jacksonville University.  Originally from Long Island, New York she is adjusting to her new home in the south by learning all about SEC college football, slower driving techniques, gravy biscuits and grits.  She enjoys filling the pages of her passport, yoga, running, beaches and pineapples.
