Program Information

Spend a semester in this sprawling suburban setting just outside of Sydney and experience all the best of the "Land Down Under."  Sydney is Australia's most famous city for good reasons - from the sparkling harbour and city beaches to the cosmopolitan city centre, it has something for everyone.  If you're a city-person, you'll be enchanted by the charm of Sydney - take all the best aspects of the big cities around the world, add Australian hospitality and friendliness, and a big dash of great weather, and you've got Sydney. For the outdoors-people, just look at Sydney's surroundings - World Heritage listed national parks, pristine beaches and one of the most active sporting cultures in the world.

Covering over 126 hectares of bushland in the Sydney suburb of North Ryde, the semester program site is an innovative and modern institution on a relaxing and park-like campus, making it an ideal setting in which to study, observe and socialize.  Over 150 degree programs are offered, and the university counts on a diverse student body of more than 32,000. This includes approximately 8,900 international students from more than 80 countries, so to say that this is a diverse and welcoming setting is an understatement!

The many sporting, cultural and social amenities comprise a wide range of leisure pursuits.  Whether you prefer country clubs; drama and film clubs; an IT society; a marketing and business society; various outdoor interest groups and different religious societies, there is something for everyone.  While there may be more than enough to explore and encounter in one semester just in Sydney, don't forget that all of Australia's most popular destinations, as well as New Zealand and Fiji are most accessible from Sydney.

Housing

Accommodations are provided at Parklands Apartments situated adjacent to the campus. All flats are self-catered and include a furnished living room, kitchen and bathroom. A resident director oversees the facility throughout the semester and the complex is within walking distance to the Macquarie Centre shopping mall, and has easy access to transport into downtown Sydney. Please note this is a furnished apartment but items such as towels, hairdryers, clocks and silverware should be purchased upon arrival. In-room Internet is available for a small monthly fee.

Students should choose at least 4 courses and 2 alternates prior to program departure to ensure they receive a full credit load upon returning from their semester abroad.
