Come and study the art and architecture of Florence up close and in person. Our classroom will be the city itself with all its beautiful piazza, palazzos, churches and museums. Once there, immerse yourself in a perfectly preserved Renaissance town built around the central cathedral, St. Mary of the Flowers (Duomo). Study famous paintings at the Uffizi, sculpture at the Bargello and regal living at the Pitti Palace. Experience firsthand the ordered layout as you walk through the Boboli gardens. Take your time to admire the innovative construction of Brunelleschi's dome while having a drink at a nearby outdoor cafe. This survey of Tuscan art and architecture will be taught during excursions to points of interest throughout the city. Come prepared to walk, talk and think for yourself.
All students will be housed in local shared hotel rooms.
Students will earn 3 credits in Art History
