Spend Thanksgiving break in the world renowned city of Oaxaca through this program that combines academics, field studies, hands-on community service development and cross-cultural interaction. Coursework in English awards an insight into the Oaxacan setting and culture through three credits in International Studies or Geography. Participants will spend time by volunteering in groups at local organizations in the city of Oaxaca, providing for a meaningful and mutually beneficial experience.
In addition to studying and volunteering, spend some time exploring! Mexico is a country of rich traditions and contrasting landscapes; a land of snow-capped peaks, expansive deserts, cool cloud forests, and the beauty of two-coastlines, the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. Oaxaca is the capital of the state and well-known for its hip cafes, art galleries and live music scene. The city boasts a Bohemian feel while maintaining its colonial charm and links to its pre-Hispanic past.
