Dance in Curaςao

Program Information

Secluded coves, spectacular beaches, and tropical ocean reefs all make up this island paradise. With historical influences from the Dutch, Spanish, and English, and more than 55 nationalities currently represented on the diverse island, Curacao boasts a flavor of both Old and New World charm. When not exploring the enchanted wonders Curacao has to offer, students will have the opportunity to perform for local peoples and organizations in the various dance venues across the island.  Join JU faculty this spring break as you dance your way into the extraordinary Caribbean culture.

Curriculum

Earn three credits from Jacksonville University in Dance Performance Techniques. Join JU Dance Faculty as you explore the rich culture of Curacao while performing, teaching, and taking class. DE 480 Dance in Curacao Special Topics in Dance Technique is offered for 2 credits and DE 320 Dance
Theater (performance) is offered for 1 credit. Combined you can earn 3 Jacksonville University credits while learning about the island’s rich culture.
