China Business Spring Break

Program Information

Spend spring break traveling to one of China's leading ports and home to the 2010 World Expo, Shanghai, and finish off your tour atop the Great Wall outside of Beijing.

Students on this program will have the opportunity to earn 3 credits in Economics or Finance while visiting top businesses and sites in Shanghai and Beijing. Shanghai is well known for being the center of industry and commerce in China, making it one of the top cities for doing business. A short train ride away, students will finish off their Chinese adventure hiking up the Great Wall outside Beijing.

Business course credit – Earn 3 credits while studying two prinicipal Chinese cities and their economies. See from first- hand experience what is driving their economy and how international trade activities link Jacksonvile to this incredible country.

See the top sites – Spend your spring break on top of the Great Wall in Beijing, in the heart of the Forbidden City or Tiananmen Square. Marvel at the Shanghai Jade Buddha Temple or people watch and shop along Nanjing Road.

Great resume builder – Students will learn how economics and finance can be applied to many decisions in their daily lives. You will have the opportunity to discover the roles of cultural, social and economic factors within Chinese organizations.

Curriculum

ECON 480 or FIN 480 "International Business: China"

Students will learn how economics and finance can be applied to many decisions in daily lives.  This program will provide students an unusual opportunity to discover the roles of cultural, social and economical factors in such decision making through research and interviews with organizations in Shanghai and Beijing.
